I recently saw a photo of myself playing and noticed I have bulging neck veins when in the upper register. I look like my head is going to explode!
Practicing at home in the mirror the past few days I am noticing that as I ascend and descend, there’s a lot of involuntary movement in the adam’s apple area in my neck and neck veins tend to appear as I go higher or if I sustain notes.
I have watched endless players in the upper register but never seen anyone else’s neck doing anything like htis, at least not anyone good!
Any ideas how to overcome??
